Is there a way to calibrate the gauge or should I just replace it. Fuel Gauge Update To recap: My fuel gauge was stuck on full from the day I picked my 2005 Titan. The gauge does come with the full instructions in detail. I tapped the tank with a rubber mallet and it fixed it so I just assumed I had a stuck float. I knew that tank was at least 1/2 full before battery died, so I thought maybe gas siphoning gremlin got me as car was left unlocked night before battery died. So i had a warranty issue with my fuel pump and it got replaced. I have an '03 Sequoia and the fuel gauge frequently gets stuck on empty, even though I have between 1/4 and 3/4 tank left. I tried the fuel injection cleaner trick with one bottle and it did shift the needle back down but only for an hour or so t. when i bought the truck the dealer told me that if its stuck on full its a fuse and if its stuck on empty its a sending unit. the gauge goes back to empty, when it is started the gauge goes to full. If the gauge doesn't respond from moving the arm, you need to test the level sender output wires with an ohm meter, which is what the gauge reads from.
